Human Resource Policy & Planning

Human resource management is the strategic approach to the professional growth and development of employees through formal preparation, learning and experience as well as ensuring the attainment of a productive and supportive organizational environment. The functions of human resource policy and planning vary across different businesses and industries, but generally encompasses the recruitment, selection, and staffing of individuals in the organization, determination of compensation and benefits, training and development, and employee relations, among others. Human resource planning ensures the adequate match between employees’ knowledge, skills, and competencies and the demands and challenges of jobs with the objective of eliminating labor shortages or surpluses. The four (4) key phases of the human resource planning process is: (1) Conducting analyses on current labor supply (2) Forecasting labor demand, and (3) balancing projected labor demand with current supply, and  (4) supporting organizational goals.
